Speaking to reporters here, party's founder president Dr K Krishnasamy said the AIADMK which came to power in 2011,had claimed that TNEB was incurring a loss of Rs 40,000 crore and increased the tariff in 2012 to compensate for it.
Without taking efforts to bring down the loss, government was now claiming that the Board has incurred a loss of Rs 70,000 crore and had justified the latest hike, which was "a clear indication of the mismanagement and administrative irregularities in bringing down the losses
People should also know about utilisation of wind power,in which Tamil Nadu was in the top spot in the country, he said.
To protest against the hike and also seek withdrawal of the hike, due to which industries and other power users had suffered adversely, the PT would stage a demonstration in Vizhuppuram on December 19, he said.
