Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today ordered a high-level probe into the functioning of skill development centres based at the government medical colleges in Amritsar, Patiala and Faridkot.
The probe was ordered by Singh after he was informed that the centres were lying idle and there were no students. The inquiry will be carried out by a three-member committee, an official release said.
The committee will be headed by the Principal Secretary of the Medical Education and Research Department, Sanjay Kumar. Skill Development Mission, Secretary, Bhawna Garg and Director Research Medical Education Avnish Kumar are the other members, it said.
