Badal released the CD at his official residence during an event to which the media was not invited.
An official spokesman told PTI later that Badal released the CD titled "Songs of Divine Wisdom" which contains six Shabads.
The Shabads include 'Koi Bole Ram Ram', 'Sakhiya Naam Maharaspuyi' and 'Mera Vaid Guru Gobinda'.
According to the spokesman, Badal told Khan that he wants the youth of Punjab to escape the clutches of western music and be attracted to the classical music again.
Later, Khan told the Chief Minister that Punjab has the richest traditions as far as art, literature and music are concerned.
