Children of all those labourers who are registered with the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board would be eligible to avail this benefit, a statement said.
The scheme covers only the registered labourers' children, studying from class 9th to 12th, who have also been awarded scholarships from the Board. It is a onetime benefit, it said.
To avail the benefit of the scheme, a worker must be registered with the Board for a minimum duration of one year and has been regularly paying the membership fees, it said.
