According to police, Paramjit, a resident of Amritsar who is said to be associated with the outfit United Akali Dal, was arrested from near a pickle factory on Narwana Road here.
A case has been booked against the accused at Majitha in Amritsar for allegedly being involved in the desecration of the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib.
Police station in-charge Somveer Dhaka said that they had received information from the SHO of Majitha police station in Punjab that the accused had made a phone call to the Amritsar SP which had been traced to the Uchana area here.
