Revenue Minister of Punjab Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria Tuesday asked the officials to expeditiously clear all pending cases in the revenue courts.

Chairing a department meeting in Chandigarh, the minister ordered a day-to-day hearing of all pending cases which were one to two years old.

The department has prepared an annual report of cases pending in the revenue courts right from the naib tehsildar level to the top from June 6, 2017 to June 30, 2018, he said.

Stressing on efficiency and zero-pendency, he warned the officials against any act of negligence.

Sarkaria ordered the clearance of Khasra Girdawari cases pending at various levels within six months so that it could be incorporated in the revenue records (Girdawari) on time.

Additional Chief Secretary M P Singh said cases of lambardari, mutations (uncontested, contested or under appeal), section 47-A of Stamp Act, demarcation, partition and khasra (measurement of area) girdawari are pending in various revenue courts, some of which are two or even more years old.

He directed the officers concerned to expedite the process for disposal of the pending cases.

He also told the revenue officials working under his command to work meticulously on each case and get the final orders on file. Further, the files must be consigned to the record rooms in time, so that aggrieved persons can get copies for appeals, reviews and revisions, he added.
