Punjab to constitute censor board to check vulgarity in songs

Announcing this here, state Jail and Culture Minister Sarvan Singh Phillaur said the move was taken after repeated complaints about increasing vulgarity in these songs.
"The government is committed to check indecent content in Punjabi films. The proposed censor board will provide approval for the songs after examining their content," Phillaur said.
The minister also announced construction of a memorial in the memory of freedom fighters in the Kartarpur area of the district with an investment of Rs 100 crore.
