Punjab to construct 'Gaushalas' to house stray animals

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that in order to tackle the menace of stray animals in the state, his government will construct big 'Gaushalas' in every district.
"The state government is taking land on lease for constructing these 'Gaushalas' so as to overcome the problem of stray animals," he said.
Badal said that once the land is finalised for these 'Gaushalas', the work on them would kick off soon.
He was interacting with media on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan programme of Lambi assembly segment in the district.
