Punjab to get Krishi Karman award

Punjab will get 'Krishi Karman' award for 2013-14 for becoming the best performing state in overall food grains production.
Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh apprised the state government about the award, an official spokesperson of Punjab government said in a communique.
He said the Union government would soon felicitate the state for this rare feat.
Appreciating the state government for this achievement, the Union minister urged the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to receive this award on the behalf of the state.
The award consists of a trophy, citation and a cash award of Rs 5 crore.
Punjab had earlier bagged "Krishi Karman" award for record production of food grains during year 2010-11.
