Qualifier Loganathan continues fine run in junior nationals

Qualifier Yeshwanth Loganathan of Tamil Nadu continued his fine run to reach the last eight of the boys singles in the Adidas-MCC National junior clay court tennis championship here today.
Top seed Parikshit Somani also advanced to the quarter finals.
Yeswanth Loganathan beat his state-mate Deepak Senthil Kumar 0-6, 7-6(6), 6-4 while Somani outplayed Amit Beniwal of New Delhi 6-4, 6-2.
Third-seed Megh Bhargav Kumar Patel (Gujarat) beat Telangana's Nitin Gunduboina 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals.
Loganathan had upset the second-seed Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli of Telangana in the first round on Monday.
The talented Chennai lad Dhakshineswar Suresh, seeded five, beat Lohith Aksha Bathrinath (TN) 6-1, 6-2 to book a berth in the last eight but another home player Oges Theyjo J, the 11th-seed bowed out, losing to sixth-seed Yugal Bansal (Delhi).
In the girls section, six seeded players coasted to victories in the pre-quarterfinals.
Top-seed Akansha Bhan of Gujarat thrashed Mubashira Anjum Shaik of Telangana 6-0, 6-1.
