Dismissing the demand for proof of surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK, Union Minister Mahesh Sharma today said questioning the sacrifices of the Army is a "dishonour" to the force and a "big sin".
"It is a dishonour to the Army. There cannot be a bigger service to the nation than laying down one's life. Raising questions over their sacrifice is a big sin," he said on the sidelines of an event.
Sharma said not only Indians but people around the globe have "faith in the strength of India" and its leadership.
Stressing that Pakistan has been "isolated", Sharma hoped that "there would be a change in its (Pakistan) thoughts".
"India is a capable country...Even our neighbour knows our strength. The most important point is that the leadership of the country is in the hands of a capable and strong-willed person. It is in the hands of Narendra Modi. This message is enough for our neighbour," he said.
The minister's remark came amid demands for evidence of the surgical strikes by the Army on terror launch pads across the LoC.
A political slugfest broke out yesterday over the surgical strikes with Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam calling them "fake", provoking stinging criticism from BJP even as his own party said it "totally dissociates" from his remarks.
Also, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Monday asked the government to release the proof of the surgical strikes to counter the Pakistani propaganda against the operation.
