Security has been tightened ahead of his visit.
"As the area is affected by Maoists, elaborate security arrangements will be made. Adequate number of security personnel will be deployed. Things will be clear once we receive the tour report," the Inspector General of Police (south-western range) Y K Jethwa said.
"Ahead of his (Gandhi's) visit the liaising team of SPG has arrived in Koraput and all the security aspects are being discussed in detail," he said.
Officials said Rahul will be protected by three-tier security rings. While the inner security ring will be managed by the SPG, the two outer security rings will be handled by paramilitary forces and state police.
