There is a need for capacity enhancement of railway infrastructure and improvement in passenger amenities, Prabhu said after launching three new trains through remote control here.
"Investment under CSR can be made in the passenger amenities area to provide better facilities to customers," he said, adding that railways will soon concretise proposals in this regard.
Railways needs huge investment to improve passenger amenities.
The trains flagged off by Prabhu today were the Mumbai- Gorakhpur Jansadharan Express, Pune-Lucknow Express (weekly) and the Bidar-Mumbai Express (weekly). All three trains are part of the Budget announcements.
