Railway official facing graft charges commits suicide

A railway official suspended for taking bribe allegedly committed suicide here by jumping before a speeding train.
The body of Sunil Baluni, an account officer with the railways, was found near the tracks at Dehradun junction yesterday, police control room here said.
A suicide note recovered from his pocket said he was taking the extreme step as he could not bear the insult being meted out to him by his interrogators, it said.
Baluni was suspended after he was caught by vigilance department sleuths last month while taking a bribe of Rs 6,000.
A departmental enquiry was underway in the bribery case. Baluni had just returned from New Delhi where he had gone in connection with the probe.
