The Chief Minister said he had asked the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) to direct all Deputy Commissioners to carry out surveys in the areas lashed by rains to ascertain the damage caused to wheat and other crops.
Adequate compensation would be given to affected farmers after the survey was completed, he told media persons at Jhorhan village, some 35-km from here.
He said the state government was fully committed to protect the interest of farmers from natural calamities.
He alleged the Congress leaders had misused their position by facilitating the entry of an unauthorised person in the assembly premises.
Instead of apologising for their mistake, they created ruckus in the House, Badal said.
