Rain likely in Uttar Pradesh; Allahabad sizzles at 46 degrees

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred at some places in eastern Uttar Pradesh even as Allahabad sizzled at 46.3 degree Celsius.
According to the meteorological department, weather was mainly dry in western Uttar Pradesh.
Rainfall was recorded in Bansgaon, Salempur, Deoria, Khalilabad, Basti and Sultanpur.
Day temperature rose in Gorakhpur and Faizabad.
It was above normal in Varanasi, Allahabad, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and Meerut.
Allahabad was the hottest place in the state with 46.3 degree Celsius.

The meteorological department has forecast that rain or thundershower is likely at some places in the state on May 27. Lucknow is likely to witness a clear sky.

Rain or thundershowers is very likely at many places on May 28 and at a few places on May 29 in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The meteorological department also informed that rain is likely at a few places on May 28 and May 29 in western Uttar Pradesh.
It has also warned of thunderstorm accompanied with squall at isolated places on May 27.
