Wilson joins the sci-fi thriller as tech billionaire Jack Morris, who looks after the underwater observation program that ultimately revives the prehistoric 70-foot shark, confirmed Entertainment Weekly.
Statham essays the role of an expert sea diver and Naval Captain, Jonas Taylor.
The film also stars Jessica McNamee, Fan Bingbing, and "Orange is the New Black" star, Ruby Rose.
"National Treasure" director Jon Turteltaub will head the film which will release on March 2 2018.
