Pilani, Churu and Kota recorded 5.4 mm, 3.2 mm and 0.8 mm respectively with traces of rain in Sriganganagar district till 5.30 pm.
Dark clouds took over Jaipur and nearby region, leading to showers in the noon.
The pink city wore a gloomy look due to the intense dust storm and gusty winds. It led to falling of trees at some places.
The change in weather also brought traffic to a standstill at several places.
"This is a premonsoon activity and effect of western disturbance which will continue for next two days," MeT department said.
Though most of the western Rajasthan remained dry, a few places in Hanumangarh and Churu district received rainfall in last 24 hours.
Meanwhile amid downpour recorded in the state, temperature dipped down by a few notches.
Jaisalmer was hottest at 43. 9 degree Celsius followed by 43 in Barmer, 42 in Jodhpur, 41.4 each in Kota and Bikaner, 39 in Dabok, 37.2 in Ajmer, 36.9 in Jaipur, 35.5 in Ganganagar, 33.2 in Churu and 29.5 in Pilani.
MeT department has predicted dust storm and thunderstorm with rainfall at a few places in east Rajasthan and isolated places in west Rajasthan.
