The Regional Meteorological Centre said that rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Tamil Nadu till 0830 hrs, with Dharapuram in Tiruppur district and Rameswaram receiving 9 cm each.
Manamelkudi (Pudukkottai) received 6 cm of rain, Pamban (Ramanathapuram), Tondi (Ramanathapuram, Arantangi (Pudukkottai) and Nagapattinam received 5 cm each, it said.
The weather office forecast rain or thundershowers at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at a few places over Lakshadweep and Interior Karnataka for Thursday.
