Sultry weather conditions made life uncomfortable for Delhi residents with humidity level oscillating between 59 and 87 per cent, as rains subsided here after a wet patch during the last couple of days.
The maximum and minimum temperature settled at 36 degrees Celsius and 26.4 degrees Celsius respectively and the Met department has predicted very light rain or thundershowers in some parts of the national capital.
In Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, light to moderate rains occurred in some places in the past 24 hours. Weatherman has forecast rain or thundershowers at a few places over East UP and at isolated places over West UP.
Kota and Chittorgarh recorded 22.8 mm and 4 mm rainfall respectively since morning, Met officials said while issuing a heavy rainfall warning for isolated areas in the state during next 48 hours.
Indian Meteorological Department Director B P Yadav has said there is no possibility of heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir over the next three days, as rescuers stepped up efforts to save people marooned by the devastating floods in the state.
There is a low pressure near Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, but it is unlikely to moves towards Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir or north-west India, Yadav added.
