A woman was injured after a branch fell on her during a storm which lashed parts of West Singhbhum district including the district headquarter Chaibasa this evening.
Strong winds accompanied by rains provided relief to people from the intense heatwave continuing for the past fortnight.
Several trees were uprooted in many parts of Chaibasa, where a high tension wire also snapped between Mahulsai and Nimdih.
The injured woman was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
