Voting for six municipal corporations in Gujarat - Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar - will be held on November 22.
"Babbar will campaign for the party in Vadodara and Surat on November 18 (Wednesday)," Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief Bharatsingh Solanki told PTI.
Babbar is a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand.
"He will address a poll meeting in Vadodara in the morning and then leave for Surat. Details of his programmes are being worked out. I will be with him during the campaigning," Solanki said.
At present, Congress is yet to release its manifesto for these polls.
