Rajasthan government today introduced an integrated call centre facility to provide information related with various schemes and programmes and to facilitate people to register their complaints regarding the schemes.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the state-level call centre which will provide information from 8 am to 8 pm on toll free number 18001806127.
"Callers can get information about the scheme and their implementation as well as beneficiaries of a scheme can also register their complaint," Gehlot said here.
The state has introduced various flagship schemes and empowered people and the call centre will prove an important step in disseminating information about them, he said.
Schemes of 18 departments of woman and child development, transport, energy, labour, medical and health, agriculture, social justice and empowerment, Jaipur Development Authority, industry, public health and engineering, MGNREGA and others have been included in the first phase and other departments will be covered in next phase of the project.
In another function, Gehlot flagged off first special train of over 900 pilgrims to Rameshwaram under the senior citizen pilgrimage scheme which was introduced some time back.
He flagged off the train at Durgapura railway station.
The government has an annual target of 25,000 people to cover with the scheme under which the government will bear trip expenses and pilgrims have option to go to one of the 11 places like Jagannathpur, Rameshwaram, Vaishno Devi, Tirupati, among others.
48,000 people had applied for the scheme, introduced in collaboration with railways, but the quota was fixed for 25,000 people hence lottery system was used to finalise beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister assured that the number of pilgrims covered under the scheme would be raised, for which the state government is in conversation with Railways which is a partner of the state in this scheme.
