The decision was taken in a meeting with Union MoS for Defence Jitendra Singh.
Several other issues related with soldier welfare were also discussed in the meeting, according to an official release here.
The chief minister said that the decision to open Sainik schools in Jhunjhunu and Alwar has been taken and asked the Union minister to expedite the matter in order to open the schools as soon as possible.
Rajasthan will become the first state in the country to have three Sainik schools after opening of the two new proposed schools.
Gehlot informed Singh that the state offers a special package for martyrs which was introduced at the time of Kargil war.
Other facilities and schemes for ex-servicemen, war widows provided by the state government were also discussed in the meeting.
Singh said that the ministry has recently launched ex-servicemen contributory health scheme (ECHS) for online bill processing at the Jaipur Military station.
The scheme, he said, will benefit all members of ECHS by ensuring transparency and considerably reducing the time period between treatment of patients and release of payment to the empanelled hospitals.
