Singh, who was working as the secretary general of the body earlier, was chosen as the president in the executive committee meeting on March 28.
Former President Jas Ram Singh was elevated to the post of Life President and Chairman of DAWA.
"All 35 members were present in the meeting and the decision was taken unanimously," Raj Singh said.
"Our priority would be to further popularise the sport. We will provide all possible help to those 'Akharas' who are really interested in promoting wrestling," he added.
Also, Delhi team will be selected for the Junior National Championships in the first week of May. The tournament will be held in Chandigarh from May 9 to 12.
