Rajasthan gets one more coal block in Chhattisgarh

Union Coal Ministry has sanctioned one more coal block to Rajasthan for power generation purpose from Chhattisgarh's Kainte extension, Minister of State for Energy Department Pushpendra Singh said here today.
Union Coal Ministry has sanctioned this new coal block in addition to the earlier coal blocks from Parsa East and Kanta-Basan and Parsa, Singh said.
With this allocation, two units of 250 megawatt each in Chabra and two units of 600 MW each in Kalisindh would run smoothly.
Besides, the coal requirement for two super-critical under-construction units of 660 MW each in Chabra and similar two units in Suratgarh would be met from these coal blocks, the MoS said.
