Rajasthan inks pacts worth Rs 11,500 crore

A total of 51 pacts worth Rs 11,531.21 crore were signed between various companies and the state government here today.

The memorandums of understanding (MoUs), signed by various departments, related to tourism, agriculture, industries, urban development, housing and mining sectors.

Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) also signed some MoUs.

The projects will create more than 26,000 direct jobs.

Chief Secretary C S Rajan, while highlighting the progress in investment commitment made during Resurgent Rajasthan summit held in November last year, said that nearly 80 per cent land for the projects has been identified.

The MoU Signing Ceremony today follows the Resurgent Rajasthan summit during which the state government had signed MoUs worth Rs 3.21 lakh crores.

Rajasthan has already cleared investment proposals worth Rs 4,452. 81 crore.

Industries Minister GajendraSingh, Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini, Minister of State for Tourism Krishnendra Kaur and Minister of State for Mines Raj Kumar Rinwa were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said that the state government has strengthened its support to investors and a diligent review mechanism has been established at all levels.

She said the government is committed to hand-holding the projects throughout their investment life cycle.

"During the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit, we signed 295 MoUs amounting to Rs 3.21 lakh crores cutting across sectors. Our aim is to keep the momentum going and continue to facilitate investment in the state," she said.

Raje also expressed satisfaction that the investment commitments received were beyond the traditional industrial locations in the state.

"This is the outcome of constant consultations with the investor partners," she said.
