Ishank Jaggi hit a century to help Jharkhand score 277 in their second innings and set Rajasthan a target of 280 to win in their Ranji Trophy Group B match here.
At stumps, Rajasthan were struggling at 67 for three with Puneet Yadav unbeaten on 37 and Mahipal Lomror on 11.
Rajasthan require 213 more runs on the final day with seven wickets in hand for an outright victory.
Resuming on 73 for two, Jharkhand lost their two overnight batsmen quickly but Jaggi came to the team's rescue and scored a crucial 100 off 141 balls that included 19 fours.
Shahbaz Nadeem contributed with a solid 32 lower down the order and also provided an able company to Jaggi.
The duo put on 99 runs together for the eighth wicket to take Jharkhand past 250 mark.
Lomror was the top wicket-taker for Rajasthan with five for 51.
After contributing with the bat, Nadeem (2/22) chipped in with two wickets to dismiss Rajasthan's top order.
Brief scores:
Jharkhand: 209 & 277 (Ishank Jaggi 100; Mahipal Lomror 5/51).
Rajasthan 207 & 67/3 in 30 overs (Shahbaz Nadeem 2/22).
