The Rajasthan government has set up a separate task force to complete the land allotment process for seven new medical colleges in the state, Medical and Health Minister R S Rathor said.
New medical colleges' land allotment and building construction would be completed in the next two years and the academic session would begin thereafter, the minister said during a meeting with district collectors here yesterday.
The colleges would come up in Dungarpur, Barmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Churu, Pali, and Bharatpur districts, it said, adding, the district collectors of these places would head the task force, an official release said.
Every medical college would be set up within the periphery of 10 kms of existing government hospital in these areas, and each would get 20 acres of land, the release said.
In another development, Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf assured the teachers' association last evening that no single post of lecturer in schools would be abolished in the state and there was no need to be confused about their future.
The state government was committed to improve quality of education in schools and provide better facilities to teachers, a release quoting Saraf said.
