Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today expanded her government's Annapurna Rasoi scheme by flagging off 51 'smart' mobile kitchens, which will also allow customers to send feedback on the quality of the food served.
Raje flagged off the mobile kitchens in Ajmer and offered food to Muslim and Dalit women. She said most of the cooking would be done using machines to ensure quality.
The expansion of the scheme comes ahead of Diwali.
The kitchens will have video-conferencing facilities for customers to send their feedback. They are also equipped with GPS for tracking their real-time location.
Under the scheme, meals are served at economic rates.
It was launched in December last year in 12 cities of the state, and aims to cover all 191 local bodies by December 13, when the state's Raje government completes four years.
The mobile vans provide breakfast meal for Rs five and lunch and dinner for Rs eight.
"Smart vans have been introduced for the scheme which is equipped with video-conferencing facility so that customer can provide feedback on the food quality to us," Manjit Singh, principal secretary, local self-government department, said.
Raje also called on donors to contribute to the scheme.
