Rajkot: BJP corporator held for slapping woman elected member

BJP corporator Anil Rathod of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) was today arrested or allegedly slapping his party corporator Jayashree Dodiya, police said.
According to police, the incident had taken place in RMC yesterday when Rathod called Dodiya a member of dissident group. Dodiya allegedly pinched Rathod and cleared her stand, while Rathod allegedly slapped Dodiya.
The incident took place when fifteen new chairmen of RMC were assuming their charge.
After that Dodiya was admitted to the Rajkot civil hospital, from where she lodged a complaint against Rathod for slapping and threatening to kill her.
"We arrested BJP corporator Anil Rathod this afternoon on the basis of the complaint lodged by Dodiya," J G Rana, Police Sub-Inspector of 'A' division police station said.
