The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has sought aid of Rs 2950 crore from the 15th Finance Commission for carrying out various developmental works in the city.
The Commission, led by chairman N K Singh, is currently on a three-day of Gujarat which began on July 23.
The Commission held a meeting with civic officials and elected representatives from Rajkot.
"We have demanded around Rs 2950 crore as a financial aid from the Commission to carry out various developmental projects in the city," city Mayor Beenaben Acharya told reporters after the meeting.
Earlier in the day, the Commission visited Aji-I reservoir, SAUNI Yojana Phase-II and Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) under the Smart City Project for Rajkot.
