Rajnath announces Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia to family of murdered

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Mohammed Moin Khan, an estate officer of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), who was killed allegedly in a case related to a hotel's lease.
Announcing the compensation of Rs 25 lakh to Khan's family, the Home Minister also directed the NDMC to provide all required help to Khan's family and examine the possibility of providing a job to one of his family members.
The deceased was a lawyer and an assistant legal advisor with the NDMC. He was killed on May 16.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister has expressed his deep sorrow and grief on the sad demise of Khan saying he was a dedicated and honest employee of NDMC.
In a message, Rajnath Singh conveyed his deepest condolence to the family of Khan and said every possible support to the family of the deceased would be given.
"Khan was a dedicated and honest employee of NDMC. Delhi Police has apprehended all the seven accused in the murder of Khan within 48 hours of the murder," he said.
According to an official release, on the directions of Home Minister, the NDMC has offered a job to the wife of late Khan on compassionate grounds.
The employees of NDMC have also shown their solidarity to the family of Khan and have decided to contribute their one day salary to the family.
Home Minister has said that Ministry of Home Affairs and NDMC stand united with the family of Khan in their moment of grief, the release said.
