33-year-old Lakhvinder alias Lakha, a native of Alwar in Rajasthan, had a cash reward of Rs one lakh on his head, and was nabbed on Sunday, police said.
On July 12 last year, some armed men had intercepted a Ritz car carrying Rs 40 lakh of Kwality Walls Ltd at Rajouri Garden in West Delhi.
The assailants had fired at the occupants of the car and took away the bag containing cash. While the accused were fleeing, the victim driver chased them and hit their car from behind. However, the accused abandoned the car on the spot and escaped on motorcycles.
On Sunday, police got a tip-off about the accused coming to Dhaula Kuan bus stand to board a bus for Rajasthan following which a trap was laid and he was arrested.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had fled to Punjab and travelled many parts of India to evade arrest.
