The Upper House will have a total of 13 sittings, according to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. Beginning on April 23, the session is scheduled to continue till May 13, subject to the contingencies of government business.
The 234th Session of Rajya Sabha, which constituted the first part of Budget Session was adjourned on March 20, and was subsequently prorogued on the recommendation of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.
Discussion on the Demands for Grants of Railways and General Budget for 2015-16 and passing of relevant Appropriation and Financial Bills, besides discussion on working of five ministries, constitutes the main agenda for the 235th Session of Rajya Sabha.
