The tragic romance, inspired by 'Mirza Sahiban', will star Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, who is the niece of Tanvi Azmi.
"Mirziya's shooting will start in September and by 2016 we will release it. It is inspired by Mirza Sahiban. The film is also my foray into love stories. It is not a simple boy girl love story but a story of a lover," Mehra told PTI on the sidelines of Ladakh International Film Festival (LIFF).
Mehra started his career in films in 2001 with Amitabh Bachchan starrer supernatural thriller 'Aks' followed by his superhit 'Rang De Basanti'. His last outing was multiple award winning sports drama 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'.
"Gulzar sahab has already written the script," he added.
