Hundreds of people, including women of different ages, children and elders participated at the protest here at the Master Canteen Square and demanded capital punishment for the six persons, allegedly involved in the gang-rape of the 23-year-old girl.

"There is a limit to everything. Crimes against women have crossed all limits in this country. Such incidents are taking place almost everyday," said woman activist Pushpa Das while paying her tribute to the Delhi victim.

Blaming the Delhi government for the miseries of the gang-rape victim, Bhubaneswar Citizen Forum demanded action against Delhi police commissioner and also the Union Home Minister.

CPI(M) state secretary Janardan Pati asked the police officers across the country to deal with crimes against women properly in order to curb the menace. "Police must be pro-active and take stringent actions against such criminals," Pati said.

The agitators also observed one minute silence to pay tribute to the victim.
