Rangasamy to seek votes for AIADMK nominee

: AINRC today said its party founder and leader of the opposition N Rangasamy would lead a door to door campaign with party volunteers in Nellithope assembly segment to canvass votes for AIADMK nominee Om Sakthi Segar for the November 19 by election.
An AINRC release today said Rangasamy would offer prayers along with the cadres at a temple before embarking on the campaign. Om Sakthi Segar will also form part of the team, it said.
The AINRC had at its executive meeting here last week decided to support AIADMK without contesting it.
Rangasamy had said the election was imposed on voters and charged congress nominee and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy with being driven for aspiration for office and power.

Among those to campaign for Segar tomorrow are AINRC MP R Radhakrishnan, party legislators and former Ministers.
Meanwhile, ruling Congress and AIADMK have intensified their campaigns, with just 11 days left for the poll

Narayanasamy, accompanied by PCC leader A Namassivayam and legislators and functionaries of Congress have been calling on voters in all wards.
DMK functionaries accompany Narayanasamy as the Congress has alliance with DMK.
Om Sakthi Segar, accompanied by AIADMK legislators and also a team of ministers from Tamil Nadu has been campaigning in the constituency, meeting voters and distributing pamphlets .
Segar had held Nellithope constituency as AIADMK nominee twice consecutively in 2006 and 2011. He conceded the seat to Congress nominee A John Kumar in the election in May this year.

Kumar quit the post of MLA on September 15 to enable Narayanasamy, a non member of the House, to contest the poll.
Narayanasamy became CM on June 6 and is faced with constitutional mandate to seek election within six months after he became Chief Minister.
