There is a huge buzz surrounding Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's forthcoming "Padmavati" but the duo will not share any romantic scene in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed epic.
In the period-drama, actor Shahid Kapoor plays Raja Ratan Singh, Rajput ruler and husband of queen Padmavati (Deepika), while Ranveer will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi sultan, who falls in love with Padmavati.
There were reports that the "Bajirao Mastani" co-stars will be seen romancing each other in a dream sequence.
According to sources, since the "Befikre" actor and Deepika are not romantically paired opposite each other in the film, so there is no question of a romantic sequence.
"Ranveer and Deepika are not romantically paired opposite each other in the film. There is no romantic song or scene between them in the narrative of the film or even as a dream sequence.
"In fact, there is no interaction between Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati. This is written history and history cannot be tampered with," sources said.
"...Sanjay Leela Bhansali, as a filmmaker, has always been sensitive towards people's sentiments and has treated the subject with utmost respect," they added.
The film will soon go on floors and is set for a 2017 release. "Padmavati" is Viacom18 Motion Pictures' third collaboration with Bhansali Productions after the back to back success of "Mary Kom" and "Gabbar is Back".
