Rathore, who represents Jaipur Rural constituency, said the interlink will also improve the water table of Rajasthan's capital and its surrounding areas.
"My submission to Uma Bharati was to interlink River Yamuna with three rivers such as Banganga, Bandi Nadi and Menda Nadi," Rathore, who is Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, said here after meeting with Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati for the purpose.
"There is already a plan for the link to go further ahead. I am asking it to be planned through around Jaipur," he said to a query on whether he was seeking for the expansion of Yamuna-Sharda link.
It may be recalled that the NDA Government is actively pursuing Yamuna-Sharda link to meet the water requirements of Delhi and also provide water for the farming sector in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
