Rawat demands CBI probe into 2012 Onida factory fire

Former chief minister Harish Rawat today demanded aCBI or SIT probe into the fire incident at Haridwar's Onida factory in 2012 in which 12 people were killed.
Rawat said some people from Haridwar had recently approached him and expressed fears about an "unfair" probe into the incident.
He claimed that the victims' families suspect the CB-CID has been asked to probe the blaze to "shield" the factory owner and its manager, "against whom evidences of different types have been found".
He urged Governor K K Paul to order an investigation either by the the DGP or the CBI into it to.
