Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has asked officials to submit report on the damage caused to crops due to untimely rains and snowfall in the state by April 28.
Inspecting agriculture, energy and revenue departments, yesterday, the Chief Minister expressed displeasure over delay in survey of crop damage and distribution of relief to the farmers, an officials statement said here today.
He also said that inspite of the state government already earmarking Rs 20 cr for farmers' compensation, distribution of the money is being delayed.
During a meeting yesterday, the Chief Minster asked top officials to speed up the process of providing compensation to farmers and gave them the responsibility of specific areas to get it done quickly.
He also asked officials to identify the affected farmers so that proper compensation can be provided to them based on their actual loss.
Besides providing relief, the CM also asked the officials to prepare a scheme under MNREGA and other flagship schemes to provide proper income to the affected farmers.
