Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today asked AAP leaders and MLAs to popularise the Delhi government's decision to give Rs 20,000 per acre as compensation to farmers affected by unseasonal rains as the party gears up for a rally against the Centre's land acquisition bill on April 22.
Kejriwal held a meeting with all the party MLAs, district heads, and senior leaders including Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh to discuss the details of the agitation.
The party will hold a rally on April 22 outside the Parliament House protesting against the Land Acquisition Bill and agricultural policy of the Centre.
"We were asked to popularise the decisions taken by the government in the rural areas. Also, we have been asked to get farmers along against the Centre's Land Acquisition Act," said an MLA who was in the meeting.
The MLA said the party intends to make this a big event and farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will participate in large numbers.
