A real estate developer was arrested on charge of trying to dismantle a private school at Baguihati in North 24 Parganas district today.
Police said the real estate developer was put behind bars for attempting to raze down the school building and planning to erect a high rise in the plot.
The headmaster of the school earlier lodged a complaint with the police that the real estate developer, locally called 'promoter', started dismantling the first floor ignoring the plea of teachers and the parents of the children.
