A 70-year-old man allegedly committed suicide today in East Singhbhum district after his son did not give him money to buy liquor, the police said.
Ramashankar Choudhury demanded Rs 20 from his son to have liquor last night at Babudih under Sidgora police station. However, his son refused to pay as the family was passing through financial hardship.
Choudhury's body was found hanging in the wee hours in the premises of a nearby temple, the police said.
The body has been recovered and sent it for post-mortem.
