Regional parties like Trinamool Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Janata Dal(U) and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) failed to open account in Jharkhand in the Lok Sabha elections.
Mayawati's BSP contested all 14 seats in the state and Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress contested from eight constituencies. Both the leaders had campaigned in the state.
In the hope to open account in Jharkhand, the West Bengal Chief Minister had roped in three MLAs Chandra Sekhar Dubey, who resigned after joining TMC, Bandhu Tirkey and Chamra Linda from Dhanbad, Ranchi and Lohardaga seats respectively. All three have lost.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not have any cheer from Jharkhand as well with all his four candidates, including JD(U) state unit president Jaleshwar Mahato losing from Giridih.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JVM-P president Babulal Marandi could not lead any of one his 14 candidates to victory and himself lost from Dumka to JMM supremo Shibu Soren, finishing third.
AJSU contested eight seats and lost all and its president and former deputy chief minister Sudesh Mahato finished third from the Ranchi LS seat.
All candidates of Left parties were swept away by the Narendra Modi wave in the state.
Suraj Mandal's quest to re-enter Lok Sabha remained unfulfilled as he lost from Koderma on a Jharkhand Vikas Dal ticket.
Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Admi Party made a disappointing debut, losing all the eight seats it contested.
