Chinnappa (55), from Valangaiman and union President of Nadar Peravai, was hacked to death by some persons at his house last night. His wife and daughter were attacked and seriously injured when they tried to stop it
Chinnappa died on the spot, police said, adding that both women have been admitted to the General Hospital here with serious injuries.
Relatives of Chinnappa refused to receive the body and staged road block before the hospital, demanding arrest of the culprits. They later withdrew on an assurance from police that the guilty would be brought to book.
