Reliance Power Q3 net rises 14% to Rs 275 cr

Reliance Power today posted a 14.4 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 275.7 crore for the third quarter period on higher electricity generation.
"The group has posted a net profit after tax, minority interest and share of profit/(loss) of associates of Rs 275.7 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 241.06 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015," Reliance Power said in a BSE filing.
According to the statement, total income has increased from Rs 2,556.8 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 to Rs 2,984.56 crore in October-December period of the ongoing fiscal.
A company official said, the profit has improved on the back of higher generation of electricity in the third quarter compared to year ago period.
The company's board of directors approved the financial results at its meeting here today.
The company further said that the Sasan UMPP in Madhya Pradesh generated 7,718 million units and was operating at availability of 89 per cent.
Its Rosa Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 2,165 million units and was operating at availability of 96 per cent. Similarly the Butibori Power Plant in Maharashtra, generated 1032 million units and was operating at availability of 97 per cent.
The 40 MW Dhursar Solar PV plant in Rajasthan generated 17 million units and was operating at availability of 100 per cent. The 45 MW wind capacity in Vashpet, Maharashtra, generated 8.5 million units and operating at availability of 98 per cent.
The 100 MW concentrated solar power project at Dhursar, Rajasthan, generated 21 million units and was operating at availability of 98 per cent.
