There was 100 per cent voting at non-descriptive Malogaon village in remote Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh bordering China after the only two voters there cast their votes today.
The polling station at Malogaon, ten kilometer from Tiding, the nearest village, has only two voters - Johelum Tayeng and his wife Sokela Tayeng at the state's smallest booth.
"To conduct smooth polling in the booth, ten polling personnel including security personnel and ten porters trekked on foot for four hours fording small streams, rough terrain and dense forest to reach the polling station," Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Chandra Bhusan Kumar said.
Once a village of seven households, many left as it was not connected by road.
"When the polling station was set up some years ago, there were a few families but over the past few years, most have shifted to nearest urban areas like Tezu, the headquarters of Lohit district," district electoral officer Duli Kamduk said over telephone.
The polling station which falls under Hayuliang Assembly and Arunachal East Parliamentary constituency is one of the eight polling stations where there are less than ten voters and one among 106 polling stations having less than fifty voters.
