On February 5, the Nirmal police had got his voice recorded by Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) experts, while his voice sample was recorded on February 12 in Nizamabad. Voice samples in both the cases has been forwarded to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Chandigarh. The Nirmal and Nizamabad police have also questioned Akbaruddin in police custody, though he reportedly did not cooperate with investigators. Moreover, he also denied that the voice in video footages of hate speeches was his. Subsequently, multiple cases were lodged against Akbaruddin following court directives across Andhra Pradesh. The 42-year-old Akbaruddin, is a legislator from Chandrayanagutta Assembly constituency here. After his arrest in the "hate speech" case, Akbaruddin was produced before a court in Sangareddy town in Medak district in an eight-year-old case of 'preventing' government officials from doing their duties. MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who is prime accused in the 2005 case was booked along with his younger brother Akbaruddin and others for allegedly obstructing the then Medak district collector and other officials from discharging their duties. Asaduddin, against whom a non-bailable warrant was pending in the case, was sent to judicial remand on January 21, though the MIM president got bail on January 24 while Akbaruddin was also granted bail in the case on February 5.
